The organising clubs Täby OK, Attunda OK and Sundbybergs IK have in a joint decision with the 25manna association decided to continue the plans and effort to successfully execute the hosting of the 25manna relay and the middle distance event, including the Swedish League (WRE) middle distance event on 9th and 10th October 2021.
This decision is based on the multiple facts:
- The spread of covid-19 is relatively minor
- The strain on the health care system is lower and decreasing
- The vaccinations are on-going and on schedule
- The decisions on decreased restrictions per 1 July were much more ”orienteering friendly” than anticipated.
The organising clubs and the association further more make the assumption that the Swedish government and the public health authorities will continue to follow their 5-step plan and increasingly allow society to open up more and more, all of which are necessary conditions for 25manna to be able to secure the necessary permits from government authorities to organise such a large event such as 25manna.
In the next few days, registration will therefore be opening to the 25manna relay, the middle distance and the Swedish League (WRE) middle distance event. In order to accommodate the organisers continued planning efforts, early registrations in Eventor is graciously appreciated.
However, since there is not yet an announced date for Step 4 and 5 there’s still a risk that the organisers will need to cancel the competition if properly government permissions cannot be secured on time. This decision will be announced at the latest 30 days prior to the competition weekend. Therefore, the organizers urge any club planning for the weekend in terms of booking lodging and travel does so in such contracts that are non-binding financially.
